Basic Same-Base Exponent Problems Practice

This CAHSEE-aligned worksheet represents the California grade 7 standard for same- base exponent rules as represented on the Exit Exam. The worksheet includes problems with keys embedded, so that students can instantly check their work as well as sheets for which the key appears on a separate page. Great practice for basic algebra, CAHSEE prep, Pre-Algebra, etc. Please rate this item if you use it!

Solving Two Step Equations with Addition,Subtraction, and Division

Please rate this item! It includes full color-coded solutions which can be printed either on or off the worksheet. It also permutates the order of the variables, addends, and sums so that students do not think in terms of the "left" or "right" item, but in terms of the coefficient. This is a great worksheet to accompany my Two Step Equations PowerPoint Show!

This is the same as the Static Worksheets I have posted, but it can produce an infinite number of worksheets and keys! Just press F9 and you get a whole new set of problems. Be sure however that you have installed the Microsoft Excel Analysis Toolpack on your computer or the formulas may not function.

Experience

I have taught math for over seven years at the high school level. I have taught Geometry and a California High School Exit Exam Prep class for seven years. I have taught Pre-Algebra for four years and SDAIE Pre-Algebra for three. Before teaching public school full time, I also taught and tutored in SAT preparation for the The Princeton Review.

Teaching style

My teaching style differs significantly based on the class I am teaching. In my remedial classes, I have come to an appreciation of a spiralled, visual, and active curriculum. I use a lot of White Board lessons where students complete problems on their own white board and I give them feedback; this is in conjunction with PowerPoint. I am growing in the use of language-building techniques both for my English Learners as well as my native English speakers.
