Students work with a table relating to the top twenty highest grossing movies of all time, rounding, ordering and adding very large numbers. Students also get an appreciation for just how much money changes hands via Hollywood studio productions. Also included as a bonus is an ordered table which can be used to go beyond the included lesson which can be used as pure graphable data or for other analysis tasks.

This activity is designed to help students understand place value by ordering numbers featuring thousandths right through to millions on a place value chart provided. The tasks also requires students to convert between numbers written as words and numbers written as numerals to complete the task.
