Pazable Learning

I have a total of 14 years in the education system. I have been in many aspects of academia, ranging from teacher in the classroom for 11 of those years, and the other three were spent as an admissions coordinator, and the Director of education at Sylvan Learning Center. I originally went to college for graphic design, but shifted into communication. Still love using my graphics background, but now solely focus on creating resources that will alleviate stress for my fellow educators.

The name Pazable comes from my nickname, Paz, combined with my desire to make it possible for teachers AND students to enjoy the learning experience! I want to make learning PAZABLE! My teaching style has always been more graphically focused rather than streamline. I create notes that have pictures and features to draw the eye to important information. My lessons tend to be tailored to engaging the students and keeping their focus and interest on what I am teaching. Being a teacher in Texas, I tailor my lessons to target the TEKS. With my resources, you will always find a connection to TEKS that you can use for evaluation or your own checklist of your targeted TEKS.

I was named the 2017 teacher of the year for Corpus Christi Independent School District. I left that district to teach in the Flour Bluff school district, which was always a dream of mine because they have an outstanding reputation. My third year into teaching at Flour Bluff, I was named the teacher of the year for that district as well. I have been the department head of my subject every year except for two. I strive to create the best resources and best environment for the teachers around me. Teaching is not an individual feat. The best teachers always have a team around them.

I attended Texas A&M University Corpus Christi, where I was a member of the Islander Volleyball team while I received my Bachelors in communication, and continued on to receive my Masters in human communication.

I was a part of academia for 14 years, two time teacher of the year winner, and really enjoying the role I found in the teaching arena. I am no longer in the classroom because I decided to come home and be full-time mom. I will return to the classroom one day when my girls are in school, but for now I spend my time raising my girls and creating resources for my teachers still in the classroom.
