I have always utilized a blend of the Classical and Montessori methods while keeping in mind state standards. Rather than telling students what to think, I have always favored students asking questions and coming to answers themselves. This comes from an understanding that when a person comes to the answer themselves, when they discover the answer, the information sticks in their mind much better. Also, presenting information in different ways, from different angles, helps students to latch on to the way that brings them to understand various concepts best.
