Awards & shining teacher moments

Ms. V has previously been named the 2022 Project Based Learning World Individual Champion by the Buck Institute for Education’s PBLWorks. According to the Institute, “Her dedication to PBL was evident in the way she used projects to transform the lives of students who have not succeeded in traditional schools.” This award led to her being the Keynote Speaker at the 2022 PBL World conference. Ms. V and her students have also been featured on Public Broadcasting Service’s PBS Newshour where reporter Judy Woodruff summarized, “What a great teacher. And this program is exceptional” in describing a nationally recognized project and skatepark concept created by students in her community.
