About the store
I am a Project-Based Learning Coordinator for grades 2-6. I work with students who are on an advanced learning plan as well as kids who have shown the ability to think critically. My lessons for older students prepare them for STEM programs and my younger students get introduced to exciting new technology at a very young age. I was an art teacher before this and I bring the creative arts overlap to every lesson. My first and main goal, as should any PBL teacher have, is for total engagement. Students will readily learn for themselves with my lessons and unit plans.

1st Grade Project Based Learning - Playground Design
For the adventurous teacher who likes an active classroom and trying new things! Students will design, in 2D and again in 3D models, the ultimate playground design. They will conduct polls throughout the school to figure out what other students like the most in a playground and then graph their data. They will visit a playground to take measurements and, of course, play around. They will record their measurements, and draw the playground on graph paper.

Food Truck PBL
This PBL is geared towards individual projects, TAG and ALP passion projects or small group extensions during math. Students can be self-directed as they go through each step of research and design on their own. It involves a variety of writing structures, authentic research and development, quality questioning, website building, volume measurement and lots of real-world applications. Plus the material cost is basically free!

Intro to Engineering - 2nd Grade PBL
This 2nd grade Project-Based Learning unit uses lots of real-world math and engineering applications. It involves 3 separate STEM projects but in the structure of PBL. This unit covers real-world applications as kids take action landing on Mars. The unit involves narrative writing in the science fiction genre as well as the engineering design process and scientific method. Included in the unit is a writing rubric, PBL standards, pictures, and extension activities.

Teaching style
Students become self-directed with proper planning from the teacher and exciting work in front of them. I try to make every lesson one that has a lot of impact and gets kids talking excitedly. My classroom is always buzzing with excitement and kids can not wait to come down again to work with me. I try to share some of my best approaches to teaching in my lessons, but also leave flexibility for classrooms that are learning at different rates.
