Experience

My name is Adassa Pacheco, and I am the creator of PEMDASSA! I have 3 years of teaching 7th grade mathematics in Arizona. My journey as a math educator has been incredibly rewarding, and I am committed to providing high-quality resources that enhance both teaching and learning experiences in mathematics.

Teaching style

My teaching style is heavily influenced by the practices studied and emphasized by Peter Liljedahl in his book, "Building Thinking Classroom in Mathematics." I incorporate his innovative ideas, such as random groups of three and working on whiteboards, and plan to implement more of his techniques to foster a dynamic and engaging classroom environment.

My own education history

I earned my degree in Elementary Education from Arizona State University and received my certification in middle grades mathematics. As a first-generation college graduate and the first teacher in my family, I am committed to furthering my education by obtaining additional certifications for higher levels of math. I also plan to pursue a master's degree in curriculum creation to enhance my ability to develop high-quality educational resources.

Additional biographical information

My parents are from Mexico, making me a first-generation college graduate and the first teacher in my family in the United States. This background has instilled in me a deep appreciation for education and a commitment to supporting students from diverse backgrounds. Many of my colleagues have shared that their inspiration for becoming teachers was a desire to make a positive impact, and I am no different. My goal is to inspire and empower my students to achieve their full potential.
