About the store

I have been teaching in Southern California since 2006, gaining extensive experience across various grade levels, including preschool, kindergarten, 1st grade, transitional kindergarten, and serving as a Teacher Specialist at a high school. Working in Los Angeles County, one of the most diverse and dynamic regions in the nation, has given me a unique perspective on the challenges and opportunities in education. Throughout my career, I have developed a deep understanding of what teaching styles and strategies resonate most with young learners, fostering their growth both academically and socially. I’ve had the privilege of working with students from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds, which has enriched my teaching approach and reinforced the importance of inclusive, differentiated instruction. In addition to classroom teaching, I have collaborated with fellow educators on curriculum design, intervention programs, and professional development initiatives. These experiences have strengthened my ability to adapt to evolving educational needs while maintaining a student-centered focus. I am passionate about creating engaging, nurturing environments where students feel supported and empowered to succeed.

Teaching style

I incorporate a variety of teaching methods, including hands-on activities, music, technology, and nature-based learning, to create an engaging and dynamic classroom environment that meets the diverse needs of young learners. I believe children learn best when they are active participants in the process, so I design lessons that encourage exploration, curiosity, and creativity. By integrating music and movement, I help students retain information while making learning enjoyable. Technology allows me to bring lessons to life and connect students to the wider world, while nature-based activities encourage observation, inquiry, and an appreciation for the environment. My goal is to create opportunities for students to make meaningful connections between the content they learn and their own lives. I also emphasize fostering a growth mindset, encouraging students to embrace challenges, and helping them develop confidence in their abilities. By making learning fun, interactive, and relevant, I aim to build a foundation of curiosity and positivity that supports their academic and social growth.

My own education history

I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree, a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential, and a Child Development Director Permit, all of which have equipped me with a strong foundation in education and child development. I further advanced my expertise by earning a Master’s degree from the University of La Verne, where I deepened my knowledge of effective teaching strategies and educational leadership. My academic journey reflects my passion for lifelong learning and my commitment to providing students with the best possible educational experience. Go Leos!
