Since our school year is based on trimesters, I send this AR Goal Parent Letter home three times a year. The student's goal is a trimester goal, but you can base it on whatever you choose (month, semester, etc.). Math vocabulary includes: unit of measure, polygon, perimeter, curved edges, meters.
This AR Parent Update form accompanies the AR Student Record from the Accelerated Reader program. I use it as a means of communication for parents. It is especially useful for the student who repeatedly begins to read a book, but never finishes, thus does not routinely take AR tests. It is also useful for the student who is reading multiple books at once (at home and at school) but does not routinely take tests. It is an eye opener for the student too!
It's the last week of school. What do you do? Have a "School's Out" Surprise Snack/Dessert Box Party!
Each student puts together a snack/dessert box at home and brings it to school. Your students receive another student's decorated surprise box. You have an instant party!
