Since our school year is based on trimesters, I send this AR Goal Parent Letter home three times a year. The student's goal is a trimester goal, but you can base it on whatever you choose (month, semester, etc.). This AR Parent Update form accompanies the AR Student Record from the Accelerated Reader program. I use it as a means of communication for parents. It is especially useful for the student who repeatedly begins to read a book, but never finishes, thus does not routinely take AR tests. It is also useful for the student who is reading multiple books at once (at home and at school) but does not routinely take tests. It is an eye opener for the student too!
