I use Hairy Math to help my 1st-grade students understand the concept of missing addends. They love drawing hair on top of the missing addend box to find the answer. It could also be used with students having trouble with the concept of missing addends. Teaching style
This varies depending on the subject and the needs of the students. I am a strong advocate of incorporating all learning styles into lessons because I believe that the more senses you have involved in learning the higher the level of achievement. I also love the Kagan cooperative learning strategies.
