Hairy Math - Missing Addend Fun!
I use Hairy Math to help my 1st-grade students understand the concept of missing addends. They love drawing hair on top of the missing addend box to find the answer. It could also be used with students having trouble with the concept of missing addends. I have also included some problems that review order of addends, a challenge problem and a spot for a student created problem, to extend learning. Once explained, this would make a great math center. Teaching style
This varies depending on the subject and the needs of the students. I am a strong advocate of incorporating all learning styles into lessons because I believe that the more senses you have involved in learning the higher the level of achievement. I also love the Kagan cooperative learning strategies.

Married with a 10-year-old gifted son and a 23 year old step son who served in Iraq and Afghanistan during his 4 years as a Marine. Actively involved with my church. Enjoy raising chickens and singing. I love to laugh and enjoy nature.
