Teaching style

Learning is a dynamic process where new knowledge must be built on connections already established in the brain. The teaching resources I have created are designed with questions and tasks meant to prompt student’s thinking and reflection on what they know, and to connect new ideas and understanding to their existing knowledge in logical steps. I use clear and engaging visuals to help illustrate ideas, and streamlined consistent formatting to avoid distraction from what is most important. I believe that to secure new knowledge, students must be given opportunities to apply the newly presented ideas and skills to novel scenarios and problems. These opportunities are built into the resources I have created.
