Hello! I'm Kathy. I hold a doctorate degree in piano pedagogy, which means my speciality is helping teachers learn how to be better teachers! I have taught piano for over 30 years, working with children from the ages of 5 to adults. I offer consulting and courses for music teachers and studio owners, working on topics from piano pedagogy to entrepreneurship. This resource represents four movement from "The Carnival of the Animals" - The Elephant, Kangaroos, Aquarium, and The Swan. Music Composition Project for Beginning Piano Students
This 9 page PDF file will help you guide your beginning piano students through a compositional project. Page 3 includes a set of rhythms that the students cut out. They then pick their four favorite rhythms, arrange them in the order that they want, and draw them in a set of boxes on pages 2, 4, and 5. Piano Keyboard Identification
If you are teaching your students how to identify the names of the keys on the piano, this is a fun one page PDF handout to assist you with that task!
