Tricky and thought provoking and a lot of fun for all ages. These rebus puzzles are great when you only have a few minutes left in your day or you want to wake up the kids with a fun "brain gym" activity. These are also great to leave for a substitute. The answer key is provided and follows the order of the puzzles.

Send your students home for summer with daily activities they can do all summer long! There are different daily activities for June, July and August that are sure to keep the students engaged. In addition to the daily calendar activities, there are three different bookmarks each month for them to cut and color. Also included are six different writing prompts for each summer month. Keep your students engaged in fun and interactive learning to keep their skills sharp for the new school year.

This lesson can be used as a stand-alone literacy or center activity as well as a lesson held over a span of three literacy blocks. It is designed for first grade but is easily adaptable for kindergarten and second grade. Materials included in the lesson are the templates to make your own flowers as well as colored flowers you can print and cut out. Teach your students how to track and record the weather with this Weather Forecast packet. The students will record the weather, state the clothing that is suitable for the forecast and record the activities that are suitable for the weather. Students grow a garden in an eggshell in this cute lesson. Starting with an empty eggshell, students plant some grass seed and predict how many unifex cubes the grass will grow in ten days. They track the growth and record the progress in this packet. At the end of the ten days, they see if their prediction was correct and give their egg a haircut!

Here is a fun way to assign classroom jobs and at the same time teach or reinforce graphing skills.

Children can learn how to evaluate their work and reflect on it in a critical way. If you have been collecting students' work, have them look through their portfolio and select the items they are most proud of.
