Practice compound sentences for Valentine's Day.

Teach the parts of a friendly letter with this template! Simply staple this template on top of lined paper. You can have your students color in the clipart if you so choose. Then cut a horizontal line between each section of the template. Make sure to stop cutting at the line. This way your students can lift up the "flap" of each section and write their letter! This includes 3 templates: Mailman, Friend (boy), Friend (girl)

Practice sorting digraph sounds by putting the picture with the correct digraph! Ch - cheese, chick, couch, cherry Sh - sheep, shark, shirt, shells Th - thumb, tooth, bath, Earth Wh - whale, wheat, wheel

Practice reading irregular words with this game. Put all of the popcorn pieces into a popcorn bag. Have students take turns pulling out a piece of popcorn and reading the word on it. In order to keep the popcorn, the student must read the word correctly. If a student picks a "POP!" popcorn, they must put all of the pieces back in the bag!

After reading a story, let students choose three ways to follow up on the reading!
