CUBES Math Problem Solving Strategy - Modified!
Most CUBES printable posters include the E standing for Evaluate. With the younger grades, I wanted the E to stand for Equation.
All other letters are the same:
C=Circle the numbers and change number words to numbers.
U=Underline the question.
B=Box the math action words and write the symbol that goes with them.
E= Equation! Write an equation for the problem.
S= Solve and check. Is your answer reasonable?

Experience
I have been a teacher for 17 years now! I spent 14 years in what I consider to be the "sweet spot," third grade! I then followed that with 2 years in 2nd grade before making the leap to my dream job: Media Specialist. What could be better than spending all day surrounded by kids and books?
Teaching style
It is my opinion that if students don't know they are loved, they will not learn, so that is my first and foremost priority. Next, I like to infuse fun, technology, color, and laughter into my classroom.
