About the store

Experience

This is my 7th year in the classroom having taught 5th grade Geography/Global Cultures, 7th grade World History (500-1500), 8th grade US History (Colonization to Reconstruction), and 9th/10th World History (French Revolution to Present).

Teaching style

As a history teacher, I believe students learn best when lessons are clear, purposeful, and thoughtfully structured. I design interactive notebook–friendly resources that help students make connections, understand cause and effect, and feel confident with complex historical topics. My goal is always to create materials that are rigorous, manageable, and genuinely helpful for busy teachers. My resources also provide flexibility and ease for teachers because while they are created with an interactive notebook, they do not have to be used in one. Additionally, most resources can be used with direct instruction or self-paced by the student giving even more flexibility to teachers.

My own education history

I took a round about way to teaching. After being convinced to not go into education, my undergraduate degree is in marketing with a special certificate in entrepreneurship and photojournalism. I realized a little too late that I didn't love marketing, so I worked at Disney World for a few years. Here is where I learned the magic of storytelling, which I have applied to teaching history. I later went back and got my MAT and have been in the classroom ever since.
