Media projects are highly motivational for students and they are wonderful to see and share the results, but are often too hard to grade. So, how do we balance the evaluation of the presentation format and the project’s academic content? A rubric that balances both areas is not only necessary, but it is very beneficial for the teacher as well as the students. This rubric gives the expected level of the project’s content and the presentation format, plus the group cooperation requirements. Using

Students will learn how to navigate the coordinate grid. How to move using x, y ordered pairs with the "5 in a Row" Game. Football scores can be complex math problems to solve. I have found that this lesson was very motivating for students in the 4th through 8th grades or even higher grades! Football scores and ball placement is discussed in these problems. The vocabulary used in a football game does need to be defined by non-fans, so a short list of some of the vocabulary is included along with a key! This is a two-page worksheet, with the key and vocabulary included.

This is a journal I created for use by my students who enter upper grades and middle school still without a comprehension of multiplication facts. Also used with higher performing in 4th, 5th and 6th grades who were intrigued with different methods that they had never used before. This journal reviews a variety of methods and hints of a different way of solving multiplication. Many methods are known and used like the lattice method or the standard US method but there is the Japanese line method
