Planning Time Payback

This is a fun, engaging inquiry activity which integrates number sense, financial literacy, persuasive writing, Social Studies and research skills. Students are to choose and research three Canadian cities that they wish to visit, map out a route, figure out distance, map out a timeline, budget for gas and calculate food and travel costs for a two week road trip. This NO PREP Simple Interest Lesson with practice scenarios provide students the opportunity to calculate the simple interest in a variety of real life scenarios.
