I used this lesson to introduce my yearbook class to pitching a sales pitch to local businesses who might be interested in putting their ad in our yearbook. The students compare selling a product on shark tank, to selling space in our yearbook to a local business for their ad. There is a couple of days worth of lessons here with videos and activities.
I was looking for a way to teach my freshmen theme and I thought, why not use fables and Disney movies that they all know! This activity requires students to identify the main idea that the author is trying to convey (or moral of the fable) AKA the theme of each story. The answer key is included!!
This project will allow students to demonstrate their understanding of the novel. A one-pager is a way of displaying one's individual and unique understanding of a text.
