Use this instructional sheet and rubric to have your students create simile and metaphor posters with the same objects. Examples: Simile: The dog is like a potato. Metaphor: The dog is a potato.

This assignment was used in my class in place of a bookmark.

This is a great way to have students show an understanding of characters from narrative readings.
