When learning volume, students struggle most with finding "B",the area of the Base--it's a problem within a problem!
This activity has five 3-D figure that students must find the volume for. The activity leads them to their answers by first asking for:
1.) name of the figure
2.) volume formula for that figure
3.) shape of the base
4.) Area of the base (B)
THEN, they use that information to find the total volume. I see lots of lightbulbs go off during this step-by-step process.
