Open Court Unit 6- First grade Phonics
This is a sample of my lessons that I use along with the First Grade Open Court Reading System. In my Tier 2 & 3 groups I provide a double dose of what the classroom teacher has introduced in their phonics lessons. These lessons correlate directly to a decodable text so that kids can practice what they have learned right away!

Experience

Teaching style
My teaching style is probably what I would call 'no fluff or frills". This doesn't mean that I am a boring teacher! Just, that I like to be straight forward and clear with my students about what they are learning. My materials might not be covered in polka dots and chevron but they are organized and functional!
I am a big believer of hands on learning, games and sensory activities. Worksheets have no place in my room!

I'm a new Colorado transplant and loving it! I live in the city but love to venture into the mountains for skiing and hiking. When I'm home I love to cook, doggy sit and read.
