Practically Pre-K

Salt tray writing is one of my favorite handwriting activities because it brings sensory, fine motor, and letter and number formation together! Salt trays are great for small groups or the writing center! Use a paint brush and your finger to copy the shown letter, number, or shape into the salt, revealing the mat below. In my classroom, I include salt trays in my small group stations once or twice a month. I also offer them as choices for arrival time and center time. I love to keep them fresh
