About the store
Welcome to Prepped & Powered—where science meets the future! I create flexible, NGSS-aligned resources that make STEM, AI, and critical thinking engaging for Grades 4–12. Whether you're looking for a quick icebreaker, a creative sub plan, or a future-forward lesson on robotics and ethics, you're in the right place. My products are designed to be print + digital, low-prep, and high-impact—especially for classrooms with diverse learners and limited resources. I’m a former science teacher with 13 years of classroom experience—7 years in middle school science and 6 years teaching high school biology, including AP Biology. I also worked as an educational technology coach for 4 of those years, helping fellow teachers integrate digital tools in ways that actually worked—without adding to their burnout. I taught in Salinas, California in a vibrant, high-needs community, where creativity, scaffolding, and equity were essential. That experience shaped the way I build every resource in this store: grounded, flexible, and designed to spark curiosity with whatever tools you’ve got.

(FREE) You Be the Algorithm! – Logic Card Sort Activity

What happens when students take on the role of a computer? This free, no-tech logic card sort challenges students to find hidden rules based on input-output pairs. It’s a quick, engaging warm-up that builds pattern recognition and problem-solving skills—perfect for grades 5–8. In this hands-on activity, students explore logic and computational thinking by working through three increasingly abstract card sets. With just scissors and paper, they’ll strengthen reasoning skills while learning how

Experience

Welcome to Prepped & Powered—where science meets the future! I create flexible, NGSS-aligned resources that make STEM, AI, and critical thinking engaging for Grades 4–12. Teaching style

My teaching style has always been hands-on, student-centered, and equity-driven. I believe science should feel relevant, accessible, and even a little fun—not rushed or out of reach. You’ll see that reflected in my resources: 🧠 Critical thinking comes first 🤖 Topics include AI, robotics, logic, ethics, and problem-solving ✍️ Materials are scaffolded for English learners, SPED, and GATE students 🧰 Lessons are built for low-resource classrooms, with easy-to-use digital formats included My goal is to help students feel like science—and the future—belongs to them.

My own education history

I earned my B.S. in Biology from American University and my Master’s in Education from the University of Connecticut. After over a decade in the classroom, I made the leap into something new: I’m now training to become a radiology technician, and currently taking my prerequisites at Cabrillo College. It’s been wild being a student again—but it keeps me rooted in what learning actually feels like. (And yes, I still miss my whiteboard.)

Additional biographical information

When I’m not writing science lessons or studying hormones and imaging systems, I’m usually being bossed around by my three cats and my dog. I’m also a huge fan of Magic the Gathering, Dungeons & Dragons, and quiet late-night writing sessions when I should probably be sleeping. I love learning new things, nerding out over metaphors, and building resources that make science feel personal, joyful, and real—even on the messy days.
