making groups of ten, counting left over ones, place value tens/ones
This activity goes along with the common core standards and helps reinforce place value. It also is similar to place value problems you might see on standardized tests. I have created a smartboard activity and matching worksheet to give students practice counting and circling groups of ten and finding the leftover ones. I have my students actually write the numbers on each cube and then circle once they have numbered to ten. The smartboard has 6 problems and the worksheet has four problems f
