About the store

Experience

I have been teaching for over 30 years. I have taught all of the primary grades from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 3. Most of my teaching experience has been in split grade classrooms, including SK/Grade One and Grade 3/4.

Teaching style

I have spent most of my teaching career in a split grade classroom (or combo class). Whenever possible, I have striven to create lessons that I can use with both grades.

Awards & shining teacher moments

My students' successes are my greatest awards. I love that magical moment when a child realizes that he or she can read!

My own education history

I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and History as well as a Bachelor of Education degree.

Additional biographical information

It is no secret that blue has always been, and will forever be, my favourite colour. Blue is my happy place. Another happy place for me is teaching young students literacy and numeracy skills. I am married and live in Ontario, Canada.
