These are pretty straight forward, just a nice clean graphic organizer for beginning conversation in French. Set-up: Print the first two pages and give to the students. I like that the French is already given and the students are adding the English because you can start to teach them about cognates using these notes. For example, when I get to "Ou habites-tu" I ask what it looks like and they normally say 'habitat'. I ask what you do in a 'habitat' and they say 'live'. Ta Da! They're reading F
These notes are the stinking bee's knees. Students will match pictures to the sounds the french letters make. I find my students learn the sounds correctly and faster because they have a picture to connect with each sound. Later I can remind my students of the pictures if they are struggling to remember the correct pronunciation. Set-up: Print the first page (pictures only) separately from the others if you're doing front and back. Make sure you have scissors and glue for each student or tabl
I love this set of notes because it teaches two things at once and uses zero English. Set-up: Print a page for each student. Have coloring items available for each table or student. First ask the student what color they think that word is in English. When they figure it out, have them color the dots to the right of that color. When they are done, ask how many of that color dot there are. Write the digit in the small box and the french word in the far right box. It is particularly hard for stud
You can use this in multiple ways. Reading: Show each slide to the students and either work through the translation together verbally or ask them to silently write a translation on a piece of paper. You can review each slide one at a time or go back through the entire PPT once you've shown all six prompts. I prefer to use this as review before a reading quiz or exam. Depending on the class and their attention span I might call on one student to do the whole slide or go through sentence by senten
This graphic organizer is just a different way to give notes about the family. I like it because, besides the more advanced words like godmother and godfather, there isn't any English. Normally I write the French word in the box where it belongs and let them use their cognate skills or I work them through the family tree which can sometimes be a new skill in English. Fill out the notes once on your own so you know how everything fits. As long as you assume that 'you' have two siblings of differ
This activity is really simple but it's also an easy way for students to blend multiple new skills together. It requires students to make a LOST poster for someone or something. It asks them to practice writing small sentences describing someone. I would caution you to know your audience and have a silly example to show if you think it might hit a few too close to home. Maybe Dumbledore is missing? This would be a great activity for an emergency sub plan. You're missing after all..... The attac

Additional biographical information
I promise I am a real French teacher at a real North Carolina public high school. The only reason I'm using "Inconnue" is because I teach extremely smart and cunning children who would find my profile and pay for my quizzes.
I also give extremely good Quizlet. Search 'mparso14'.
