Do you want to teach Spanish slang words and idioms but you're not sure how to go about it? You can easily adjust this game for any age group, for ANY material! Best part is, your kids need NO BACKGROUND KNOWLEDGE! In fact, it's more fun if they don't know anything ahead of time. Here's how the game works: 1. Give each kid a number of strips of paper equal
¡CAMBIA! is a fast-paced review game that is perfect for any grade level, at any proficiency level! It is also easily adaptable for any subject matter and any age group! I felt that the SOMOS 1.9 unit was a bit too short, so I created several additional readings and activities based on the vocabulary I introduced during this unit ( mira, tener miedo de, asustar(se), escalofriante, el sonido). This is one of the slightly more challenging readings that I gave to my Spanish II students. While it is challenging, it is still doable, especially with the provided vocabulary bank at the bottom of the reading.
Whether it’s for higher level Spanish students or for an intermediate class’s FCR unit, this is the perfect way to check if students are understanding the given reading! It’s also a great way to make sure that students know how to express their ideas and opinions in Spanish and in English. This literature review worksheet works best for any intermediate level or higher text, regardless of length or complexity; I’ve used it with one page texts, portions of chapter books, and entire novels. I used these in a social game where the kids tried to convince each other that they would “ally” with each other for mutual (but small) benefit, rather than “betray” each other for potentially large rewards. The game is played as so: Game InstructionsFor each round, kids will pair up with one other student. They will have 30 seconds to a minute to convince their partner to place their token with “ally” (aliar) facing upwards. In a Spanish classroom, they will have to use provided phrases or thei
