Here is a short reading for Spanish 1 students. This reading is great for practicing basic questions, SER, adjectives, and GUSTAR. The students will read Xiomara's profile she wrote about herself and answer questions afterwards, in Spanish, about what they understood.
Here is a great cultural article about the school system in Spain. Students can work alone or with a partner, their choice, and read the article out loud. It's amazing how much it helps in a foreign language to read the passage out loud. When they are done reading, they must complete the true/false questions that follow. A brief article about the history and current day celebrations of quinceañeras in México and the USA in Spanish. This is great for level 2 or higher. The students will be asked to answer comprehension questions about the article after the reading. This can be done as individual work or in pairs.
This is a great activity for students to apply their Spanish skills to something they do very often, online shopping! Take your students on a "shopping spree" to the Corte Inglés in Spain. Students will have to make size and money conversions and make cultural comparisons along the way. This is a great way to bring what you do in the classroom to life!
