I've been involved in teaching for 5 years now. Finishing my degree in 2009 from UW-La Crosse in Wisconsin. I have taught 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade classes.
Using the NCAA Men's March Madness tournament, I have students keeps stats, figure percentages, and compare numbers while getting a chance to watch a game in class and following it to the end. This will also work for the Woman's NCAA March Madness tournament.
Regardless if you have some background information you want to get the students pertaining to the crusades or are starting from scratch, this assignment will cover much of the crusades. The project covers the 9 crusade thought process vs. the 7th or 8th, but can be adapted to those ideas. Students work in groups to design and build a catapult and create a newspaper.
Review game, designed like baseball, that can be used with any subject in which ha study guide can be prepared.

Teaching style
I love to have my projects have a purpose or meaning. I like them to answer the question, why are we doing this? Students want to learn, when it's fun. I try to make it fun, because than teaching becomes easy.
