Experience

I have been an educator for over 18 years, teaching science and math at the middle and high school levels. I have had the privilege of teaching at California Distinguished Schools and National Blue Ribbon Schools. I have taught in both California and Idaho.

Teaching style

I believe it is essential to create a classroom culture that supports all students. When students feel safe to make mistakes in the learning process, they will engage with the learning material, ask questions, and delve deeper into their comprehension. I always include laughter in my classroom. Making the learning process fun and engaging is vital to my students’ success, including real-life stories and applications also aid in student understanding. You will find these elements sprinkled throughout my curriculum products.

Awards & shining teacher moments

Along with teaching science and math, I have also taken part in district-level curriculum writing and lesson design, and had the role of Science Department Chair. I enjoyed my role as a district committee member, writing health curriculum and providing professional development training to teachers for the implementation of the lessons.
