FREEBIE - Factoring Quadratic Polynomials [a>1] - Color by Number (Easter)

Just print and go! Add a little fun to factoring quadratics practice. I used this as an extra credit assignment for my students once they had learned how to factor quadratic expressions with an a-value greater than 1. It would be great as an in-class assignment or homework assignment, too!

Experience

I bring over a decade of classroom experience across multiple grade levels, subject areas, and school settings. Most of my teaching experience has been in 8th-grade ELA and 9th-grade Algebra I, with additional experience in middle school math, high school English, and upper elementary science, serving students in rural, suburban, and urban schools with diverse learning needs. I currently serve as a Gifted Intervention Specialist working with students in grades 1–5, where I design and deliver math and ELA instruction that emphasizes conceptual understanding, problem-solving, logic, creativity, and meaningful academic challenge—grounded in real classroom practice.

Teaching style

Whether working with core content or advanced learners, I strive to design instruction that is engaging, flexible, and responsive to real classroom needs, with a focus on helping students make sense of what they are learning and why it matters. I value strong, positive relationships with students and believe that learning works best when classrooms are both supportive and challenging—where humor, curiosity, and high expectations go hand in hand. My teaching style is rooted in clarity, structure, and purposeful design. I prioritize conceptual understanding, problem-solving, and student thinking, using logic and creativity to deepen learning rather than distract from it.

My own education history

I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Middle Childhood Education and a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis on Talent Development. I am licensed in the state of Ohio in grades 4–9 Mathematics and English Language Arts, grades 4–6 Science and Social Studies, and K–12 Gifted Education.
