About the store

Experience

I taught one year of 8th grade ELA and am currently teaching 6th grade Special Education co-teach.

Teaching style

I love finding fun, creative ways to engage students in reading and writing. I think that the best way to teach students is to give them assignments that don't feel like learning.

Awards & shining teacher moments

I have been awarded the Junior and Senior Insight Awards at the University of West Georgia in 2014 and 2015, respectively. These are awarded to students who exhibit critical or insightful approaches to the course content and make other significant contributions to the course through such activities as class discussions, presentations, and other coursework.

My own education history

I attended the University of West Georgia to obtain my Bachelor's degree in English with certification in secondary education. I also have a teaching certificate in Special Education.

Additional biographical information

I've wanted to be a teacher since I was in Kindergarten. It has always been a passion of mine and I believe that I will be a better teacher because I've been able to observe my career my entire life.
