About the store
I spent seven years teaching in very different classrooms, and another eight leading the development of learning solutions for enterprise. Everything I create for TPT comes out of those experiences. I began my career teaching math to at-risk students and adult learners in Montréal, and later moved to Fukuoka, Japan, where I taught high school ESL and later ran seminars for Japanese and foreign English teachers at the Fukuoka Prefectural Office. After earning an MBA with a minor in applied mathematics, I moved into research and then spent several years as a Product Manager building custom digital learning tools. In 2016 I founded Pyxédo to design digital learning solutions and media, first for corporate clients and now back where I started, for the classroom. I develop digitally-enhanced math lesson plans spanning multiple grade levels, and collaborate with EcoGames, an Indonesian start-up creating physical games that teach the next generation about sustainability and resilience. My goal with every resource is the same: lessons that are clear, engaging, and genuinely ready to use.

Awards & shining teacher moments

Three of the solutions I led as Product Manager won Brandon Hall awards: - A custom learning platform for IBM's Communications team (Gold) - A series of enablement materials on cloud, AI, big data, and analytics for IBM sellers (Gold) - A 12-episode Agile mock-documentary series, which I wrote and directed (Silver) The best award I ever received, though, came from a student I taught at summer school. He was in Grade 10 but had stopped learning math in Grade 7, convinced he just didn't get it. I don't believe there are students who don't get math — only students who have never had the concepts explained in a way that makes sense to them. By the end of the summer we'd worked through the whole curriculum, starting with grade 7. After he sat the provincial exam, he came to thank me: he was fairly sure he hadn't passed this time, but he said he'd learned more that summer than ever before — and he'd pass the next time. He did.
