Density Experiment for Younger Grades
Density experiment simplified for the earlier grades. It's simple but reviews the scientific process and basic concepts of density and buoyancy. It can be an enriching/follow-up experiment after sink and float and matter unit. Materials are easy to find and posters help with the presentation. I used it for my son's at home experiment that he needed to present in school. Posters were used as note cards.

Hashtag Fun!
The hashtag activities include sentence editing, technology and a bulletin activity. The students can take their own selfies (I used my personal Ipad) and then add fun hashtags. I incorporate responsible Ipad use, taking selfies and hash tag use. I then continue with the lesson I use the hashtags for sentence editing. They practice finger space, capitals and punctuation. The lesson is part of my beginning of the school year routine and "All About Me" theme. I have includeded an Ipad clipart that

Teaching style
Child centered and intriscally motivated learning. I love to create wonder and purpose for learning. Great books, math problem solving and hands on science guide my classroom curriculum. The skills are interwoven and connect within disciplines .
