Botany: Compare Dates, Olives, and Grapes
There are so many verses that focus specifically on these plants and their fruits. So this worksheet begins with one of those verses, to show students that Allah SWT honored these fruits by mentioning them. Navigation via the Stars
The verse that says "by the stars, they find their way" is stating that this is already occuring... navigation by the stars. One way by which humans navigated the world is by 'inventing' and using the astrolabe. The short passage on this worksheet describes the astrolabe, and gives a history of its development. Furthermore, there is a live link from which students will learn even more about astrolabes.

Fruit Classification by Seed Type
In this Ecology/Botany related activity, students will be able to relate the arrangement of some fruits to these three categories: berry, drupe, and caryopsis. After teaching how the eye works, this worksheet will help you summarize the process while integrating Islam and emaan into the topic. We start with a verse that says "Allah controls your sustenance and your sight" (paraphrasing here). Then we ask, what role does light play [in our sustenance and in sight]. Movement of the Sun: Sun Dial
In one verse of the Qur'an, the Creator connects the idea of shadows with the movement of the sun. This gave me the perfect segue into the idea behind sundials. On this worksheet, we give guidance as to how to make a sundial, how to appreciate it and read it, and finally, we modify it for Islamic prayer times, AND include a video link regarding the importance of the sun in Islamic practices.

Creation of Planets From Stars
God hints at the Big Bang when He says the heavens and earth "were joined together… then We parted them". It's important for students to know that this is in the Qur'an. It is also important to see how the physical world around us supports the 'big bang' as well. That's why students are asked to read a short passage, and then list at least two pieces of evidence that the heavens and earth were "joined together". So many times in the Qur'an, our Creator has mentioned that He has made creation "subservient" to man. This worksheet highlights two verses that have the word of interest, and also highlights the concept of serving. Six Days New Arabic Words
This fun worksheet investigates the Arabic word "Yaum" … from the verse about God creating the universe in six "yaum". Students learn that 'yaum' means period of time. They also practice writing it in Arabic, and they learn that the plural of yaum is ayyaam. The bonus question introduces another Arabic word "Istawa". And in this case, we have a short paragraph explaining why Allah SWT is considered to "istawa" in a manner different than humans do.

In the worksheets I have developed, you will find that I often summarize a scientific concept in grade-appropriate language. I focus on the essence of what they need to know. Then I will ask the student to use their critical thinking skills to answer open-ended questions. No mindless multiple choice here!
Sometimes, there is an activity that requires them to take measurements or to draw. Other times, they may have to do a concept organizer, such as a Venn Diagram or a T-table.
