Use these signs to keep your guided reading or math groups fluid and interchangeable! I plan to attach these to a wide ribbon and hang behind my small group instruction area. You could use clothespins with student names to move around as needed. Enjoy this free & editable management tool!
This rubric was specifically designed for use with third grade ELA standards. I use this as a body of evidence for standards-based grading. Students write sentences using third grade level spelling and vocabulary words. Below is a list of essential skills/learning targets in student-friendly language that are included on the rubric:
COMPLETE SENTENCES: I can show that I know how to write sentences correctly.
CAPITAL LETTERS: I can capitalize words in titles and proper nouns.
PUNC
This quiz can be used to assess students on their knowledge and understanding of the states and properties of matter. There are various question types, including: short answer, multiple choice, search and find, visual (drawing) response. I used this during my initial science unit at the beginning of the year.
This is a great activity to use during a water cycle unit. It is also good review for the steps of the Scientific Process (observation). I used this prior to introducing key cloud vocabulary like: condensation, fog, cumulus clouds, cirrus clouds, stratus clouds, etc. This activity could easily be used with a PWIM-based unit!
This product can be used throughout the year as a way of promoting "good reads" among student peers. It is also great option to use as a bulletin board in your classroom library area! Another alternative, would be to use this as a skill assessment for summarizing and/or character traits.
There's something for EVERYONE on this project choice board!! Use it as a culminating project after your students have researched a type of severe weather. It provides differentiated project options for students to showcase their individual strengths.
Your students will LOVE this note-taking tool! It allows them to write and record notes in a fun and engaging way while using a FREE digital resource! I use this tool as part of an open-ended, inquiry-based research project to boost students' background knowledge before we dive-in to our animal traits & adaptations unit.
Use this product as a culminating research project for your social studies unit on global connections/geography. Students have the option to choose a state or a country to research. Key terms and concepts ( interdependence, export, import, etc.) are purposely sprinkled in to serve as a way to assess students’ overall conceptual understanding.
This is a perfect resource for teaching division "short-cuts"! It can be used in interactive math notebooks, or as informal assessment. I have included 3 differentiated versions of the table.
