Experience

I have been an educator in Houston, Texas for a total of 28 years. Six years was spent teaching middle school math and the last 22 years have been spent teaching my most favorite subject, Algebra. I previously held the position of Math Department Chair and a teacher trainer for the University of Houston.

Teaching style

My teaching style is that of a Demonstrator or Personal Model. I enjoy showing my 9th graders how to solve various problems and manipulate equations.

Awards & shining teacher moments

I was voted as the 2012 Teacher of the Year. I was a committee member of a Broad Prize Winning School. My math department was recognized as "Distinguished" from the Texas Education Agency. I am an "Extra Mile Teacher", a HAASBE member and currently designated as a Master teacher with the TEA.

B.S in Mathematics from Prairie View A&M University. Currently working on a Master of Education at Lamar University.
