I've been teaching 8th American History since 2016, after serving 10 years in the United States Army. Teaching and history are my lifelong passions, and I feel blessed to be able to share whatever I can with the world.

Teaching style

Up front, energetic, and lively. I like to go by the crawl-walk-run strategy that teaches students to be self-reliant before transitioning to high school.

I served with TEA on the 8th Grade STAAR Social Studies Item Review Committee and Cut-Score Committee. I've been the campus teacher of the year and district runner-up for my innovative teaching style and ability to work with distinguished populations. I've led 100s of PDs in everything from Advanced Academics and G/T updates to seven steps, pedagogy, and best teaching practices. I've also mentored multiple new teachers and written curriculum for my school district.
