I began by journey as an elementary school teacher on Long Island and earned my Doctorate in Literacy. I then obtained my first administrative position as a Supervisor of Reading K-12 and gained experience teaching supportive classes in middle and high school. Several years later I became an Assistant Principal and am now thrilled to be a principal at an amazing K-5 elementary school.
Groundhog 'Escape the Shadow' STEM Activities integrate simple machines and our favorite winter animal. Students will be challenged to work in small groups to make either a seesaw, elevator or catapult, and use their knowledge of simple machines, to help the groundhog not see his or shadow. These activities can be completed using commonly found art and household items on a shoestring budget. Art and music challenges are included in each activity for enrichment and differentiation.
