Practice activity for finding area of composite/compound figures. For a group activity, print pages 1 -2 on card stock and have at group tables. Student work together to find area of the figures and record their work on the answer sheet on pages 3-4.
Page 1 provides a circle to label and identify and define the parts. Page 2 provides directions for conducting an experiment to discover pi using the relationship between circumference and diameter. NOTE: You need to provide students with circular objects, string, and a ruler to complete the activity.
