This activity can be adapted in so many ways, here are some of my favorites: •Students draw a picture of someone they love on the conversation heart •Use as a reading activity- draw someone a character in the book you are reading loves •Students have 10 letters/numbers to come up with a Valentine’s Day phrase on their heart •Students think of as many words for “love” as they can and write them on the heart •The sky is the limit! What other things can you do with this conversation heart?

This data collection sheet can be used for independent work tasks or task boxes.

This sheet is a great way to keep track of what activities you are working on which each student in your class. I keep a math clipboard and an ELA clipboard, and each day I jot down what the student is working on, as well as any notes (what prompts were needed, how successful the student was, what skills I need to re-teach, etc).

Just a little reminder that even when things are difficult, there is a lot to be grateful for!
