Use this letter template for your pre-literate students to write their letters to Santa. Students will fill-in their names, age and grade, how they think they were this year (plus a fill-in option!) and what three items they wish for! Students can also add a photo or a drawn picture to their letter.

Work on addition with numbers 1-5 using Valentine cookies! Students find the cookie jar with the number that corresponds to the addition problem.

This activity can be adapted in so many ways, here are some of my favorites: •Students draw a picture of someone they love on the conversation heart •Use as a reading activity- draw someone a character in the book you are reading loves •Students have 10 letters/numbers to come up with a Valentine’s Day phrase on their heart •Students think of as many words for “love” as they can and write them on the heart •The sky is the limit!
