I am a special education teacher with 14 years of classroom experience, including three years in a self-contained setting and eleven years as a resource teacher. Throughout my career, I have supported students with a wide range of learning, behavioral, and support needs. The color assignment helps a student reflect on which days they were successful, and which days they needed to reflect on. My teaching style is structured, data driven, and student centered. I prioritize clear expectations, explicit instruction, and tools that support consistency across classrooms and staff members. I believe that well designed systems such as behavior tracking tools, IEP snapshots, and data collection forms reduce guesswork for teachers and paraprofessionals and lead to better outcomes for students.
