A syllabus designed with 6th-8th grade in mind, but it could also work for high school! I teach reading so all of the content on the syllabus is geared towards reading, but it is editable! I plan on using this for my 6th grade class to refer back to for assignments and other class policies. They will keep it in their class binders.

My teaching style is rooted in trauma-informed care, restorative justice, and community building, with a strong foundation in psychology and child development. I believe that learning happens best in safe, supportive environments where every student feels seen and valued. I also love bringing a little weirdness and humor into my lessons to spark curiosity, lower barriers, and make the classroom a place where students can relax and engage. My resources are designed to foster connection, creativity, and critical thinking while keeping things fun and meaningful.
