Teaching style

I'm a dedicated Science of Reading trained teacher with a Master of Arts in Teaching from the University of Virginia. My classroom is a dynamic, engaging space where students are actively involved in their learning. You might see students talking, collaborating, and moving around the classroom as they engage with the material. As someone with both ADHD and dyslexia, I deeply understand the challenges some students face. This empathy drives me to create lessons that are not only educational but also meaningful and relevant to my students' lives. My goal is to make learning accessible and enjoyable for all students, helping them connect what they learn to their everyday experiences. I have a Bachelor of Arts with a major in History and minors in Geography, Political Science and Classics (Ancient History) from Virginia Tech. I have a Master of Arts in Teaching from the University of Virginia.

In addition to teaching, two companies have employed me to produce lesson plans and develop content. I love dogs, I love being a Girl Scout leader. I will almost always choose hanging out with kids over hanging out with adults!
