Experience

I am entering my ninth year teaching, and it just keeps getting better and better! Each year, I find that I become stronger as a teacher and my activities become richer. Like our students, we are always growing and learning :D

Teaching style

For me, the greatest lessons are student centered. I am so excited when I can step away from the lesson and the students run the show! Like all teachers, I love the "ah-ha!" moment. I also like a growth mindset; it's not that you don't get it, it's that you don't get it YET.

Awards & shining teacher moments

- cum laude (undergraduate) - academic scholarship (undergraduate) - Praxis Certificate of Excellence

My own education history

I attended Pepperdine University in Malibu, California where I received my undergraduate degree in education. I went on to earn my Masters in Anthropology and Education from Teachers College, Columbia University. I continue to take graduate classes (mostly centered around language arts). I have also earned my Principal's Certificate this past spring.
