Thank you for considering my product! This presentation contains 52 slides, 2 for each letter of the alphabet. For each letter, a picture is displayed with the sentence prompt “The beginning sound is….”; the following slide reveals the answer, in capital and lower-case letters. The word is also included on the answer slide. In my classroom, we use white-boards to write the letter for the beginning sound before I move on to the answer slide. Students self-check to see if they answered correctly.

This writing booklet follows a can/have/are format for compiling schema about spiders! The sentence prompts are written in a dotted font for tracing. Each page has an area to add an illustration and build upon the included clip art. I've also provided a page without a sentence prompt. To conserve paper, I copy this booklet on two sides with a short edge binding. You could also choose the multiple page setting on your printer, but this will make the pages smaller. This 11 page emergent reader features a community helper theme. Students will write the sight word "I" at the beginning of each sentence. At a literacy work station or in a guided reading lesson, letter tiles or cards could be used in place of writing. You may choose to make color copies and laminate the pages, to use again and again. At the end of the year, I give each of my students a beach ball! This tag was created for the gift. I print the tags on card stock, cut, and tie to the beach ball bag with a colored ribbon.
